A Winter Drive to St. Moritz & The ICE Event

Last week I had the chance to visit St. Moritz for The ICE – International Concours of Elegance, and the whole trip turned out to be just as memorable as the event itself.

The drive

I decided to drive up, and the trip couldn’t have gone smoother. No issues, just clean roads and a relaxed start to the week.

As the route climbed into the Alps, the scenery completely changed. Snow-covered mountains, frozen lakes, and endless winding roads made the drive feel cinematic. The views were honestly breathtaking and made every kilometer worth it.

Arriving by car

Arriving in St. Moritz by car made the whole experience even better.

Having the freedom to stop anytime and shoot was a huge advantage for me. I could pull over at scenic spots, take photos, and even capture rolling shots for some of the projects I had planned during the trip.

For automotive photography, that flexibility is everything, so it really elevated the quality of the content I was able to create.

The ICE event

The ICE event itself was incredible.

Seeing classic and modern automotive icons displayed directly on the frozen lake, surrounded by the Alps, is something you don’t experience anywhere else. Every corner felt photogenic, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet premium - exactly what you’d expect from an event of this level.

Final thoughts

From the smooth drive to the unforgettable scenery and the event itself, everything just worked perfectly.

A big part of that was thanks to www.Renty.si, a trusted local car rental from Ljubljana, Slovenia that provided the car for the trip. The whole experience was completely hassle-free and reliable, which allowed me to focus on enjoying the drive and creating content. Working with a local rent a car made all the difference - flexible, straightforward, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. If you're looking for a dependable local car hire in Slovenia rather than a big franchise with no extra fees, Renty is easily one of the best options for comfort and peace of mind.

St. Moritz, great cars, and winter roads.. it doesn’t get much better than that.
